It is the end of the semester! And I just finished my final paper of the semester and I am thrilled. Professor Sweeney's class was not difficult but I have so much studying to do for all my other final exams.  This semester has been very fun and one to remember!

Essay 4

For the final essay for English 102 we could pick a topic of our choice but it had to be about the story/movie Se7en. I chose to write about the seven deadly sins.  I wrote about how the story interpreted the seven deadly sins and how they all made sense with the meanings.  the seven deadly sins are, greed, gluttony, sloth, lust, pride, envy, and wrath.

Essay 3

The third essay for Professor Sweeney's class is a topic of our choice, kind of. The restriction was that this paper had to somehow relate to one of the past stories that we had read in class this semester.  For this paper I wrote about the story, The Yellow Wallpaper, and how the narrator in the story had hallucinations and depression and how I feel that they feed off of eachother.

Essay 2

The second essay for Professor Sweeney's class was about the story, The Glass Menagerie.
 We had the chance to pick our own topic for this essay and I chose to write about Escape in the story and how each character escapes from reality in some way or another. I liked writing this paper because I believe that everyone needs to escape from reality every once in a while and just not have a care in the world. This will help with stress to go away and we all know how stressful life can be at times!

Essay 1

The first essay for Professor Sweeney's class was about combining a character analysis with a personal narrative. I wrote mine on how I related to someone in the story, Everything That Rises Must Converge. The audience for this essay was Professor Sweeney and our peers in class so this essay was not a very difficult one for me!

Last week I visited Bon Secour School of Nursing. I am trying to decide which nursing school I want to go to after I finish up at Richard Bland. Southside Regional Nursing School, VSU and VCU are the other big options that I am looking into right now. Bon Secour seemed like a very nice school I'm just not sure about the far drive to classes everyday. But that will be a problem with most every school that I will look into. This is my second outside of class assignment for my English 102 portfolio!

The Hunger Games Catching Fire

For one of my outside sources I went and saw the new movie, Hunger Games Catching Fire.  It was a very good movie! The books always have more than the movies to but all in all it was still a very interesting movie. The ending was very suspenseful and left you hanging like a leaf on a tree. I wanted just a little bit more from the movie, but now I can't wait until the next Hunger Games movie comes out so I can go see it!
